The Ridgid R4221 Miter Saw is a large and weighty machine, weighing in at 64 pounds. Its size and weight are due to its large base and slides, giving it a substantial footprint compared to other saws. This saw is perfect for milling down large stock.

Some users have reported gear misalignment causing the saw to kick hard and run choppy, but Ridgid stood behind their product and promptly sent out a replacement saw.

The saw boasts a 70-degree miter capacity in both directions, and can cut a 14-1/2 inch wide, 70-degree bevel in a ½ x 6 cedar clapboard. It’s ideal for 4.5 roof pitch siding and trim installations. The saw has easy-to-manipulate controls, with positive stops at major angles and the ability to bypass them.

The Ridgid R4221 is designed for large cuts, with the ability to cross-cut a 16/4 board up to 15 ½ inches wide. The motor is mounted at a 45-degree angle to give additional clearance for extreme capacities, and the saw’s weight keeps it stable during cuts. It also features an LED light and dust collection port.
